Upstate Stylista LOVES Chloe & Isabel

The Upstate Stylista blog

Hey everyone! Sooo, a few weekends ago I went up north to my hometown for my little sister’s bridal shower! (Well, she isn’t really little anymore obviously- but to me she will always be my baby sis!) While being home I got to spend lots of quality time with one of my oldest and dearest friends from high school, Alicia! Wow, do we ever go wayyyyy back! It still seems like just yesterday I would spend countless hours in her room, drooling over all of her new designer accessories and clothes! She always was up to date on fashion and trends which was extremely rare for being from such a tiny little town. I always felt like in our small “neck-of-the-woods”, her and I were the only ones who really cared about style, fashion, labels and designers. Obviously things don’t change because still to this day whenever I’m home visiting, we see each other and still gush about the latest handbag we got, or designer earrings or makeup we’ve purchased!

Alicia is a merchandiser now for a really trendy, affordable jewelry company called Chloe & Isabel. I’m always one to support my friend’s and their business’s in any way that I can, so I purchased a pair of adorable opal stud earrings from her and I’ve been HOOKED ever since! They arrived literally 2 days after I bought them… and not to mention in the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen in my life! I was shocked… for only $22, I got the most amazing, high quality pair of earrings that I now literally wear every single day of my life! (Details: antique rhodium-plated, nickel-free plating, 0.25″ approx. width, stainless steel post, opal crystal)

I realized after seeing all of her Chloe & Isabel jewelry that she owned and how amazing all of it was, that I wanted to do a collaboration with her right away! I already have so many pieces that I’m obsessed with it’s not even funny! So ladies, I bring you my ONLINE JEWELRY PARTY!!!!!!!! Here’s a little bit about the company from -Chantel Waterbury- the CEO and founder:

Our Story

I conceived of Chloe + Isabel as a place where smart, creative and confident women could play a significant role in creating an innovative new business model where they were at the center. Chloe + Isabel is both a brand and opportunity that combines elements of direct sales, retail and eCommerce with the sole purpose of providing a more meaningful experience to the modern woman. My mission was, and remains to this day, to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs through social retail.

Chloe + Isabel is the opportunity I wish I had when I was a young, ambitious woman with the goal of one day being my own boss. Today, I see in our Merchandisers that same drive I had when I first stepped out on my own, moving away from home at the age of 13 to pursue my education. I began working and saving up for school, and ultimately turned to a direct selling opportunity which paid my way through college. While it allowed me to make the money I needed, and gave me confidence in running my own business, I would have loved to have built my resume with an even wider set of skills, as well as been connected to a community of like-minded women.

After college graduation, I began a 15 year career in jewelry design, development, and merchandising at industry heavyweights like Target Corp., Macy’s, Gap Inc., and LVMH, as well as brands like Kenneth Cole, Cartier, Tiffany and Co. and Ippolita. In 2010, I was offered my dream job as a Chief Merchant of one of my favorite designer jewelry brands. At that time, the U.S. economy was suffering, and with the high unemployment rate, particularly for Gen Y, I kept asking myself, “What can I do with my experience and skillset that will make a real difference in this world, and for these young women?”

It had taken me years to climb the corporate ladder and gain the skills I needed to run my own fashion business. Here was a chance to share my knowledge with today’s women so they wouldn’t have to wait, or potentially never get the exposure they needed. I wanted to help them reach their goals, whether they were financial or skill-based. We can be her stepping-stone or her destination. Chloe + Isabel was created to be a brand people would love, and more importantly, an opportunity our Merchandiser could believe in.
